The Effect of Threatening Stimuli on Attentional Blink

Background: This study aimed to identify the effect of momentary Attentional Blink (AB) in temporarily stressful situations reveal relationship between emotion and attention after a traumatic experience. Methods: Participants were 57 college students randomly assigned either an experimental group (n=30) that watched news videos depicting disasters or control (n=27) did not watch them. was followed by Rapid Serial Visual Presentation (RSVP) task for both groups. AB appeared when T1 threat stimulus group; shorter presentation interval T2, stronger AB. On other hand, news-neutral stimuli presented T1, pattern groups changed. The regardless type word T1; however, group, only T1. Results: results suggest appears is stimulus. However, conditioned stimulus, varies depending on whether participant disaster video. Conclusions: Our expand existing studies confirming trauma-related neutral trauma stimuli.
